President Tebboune on the occasion of Science Day: It is inevitable to possess the tools of power inherent in science and knowledge – the Algerian dialogue

Today, Saturday, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent a message on the occasion of the commemoration of Science Day, which coincides with April 16, in which he reaffirmed that it is inevitable to possess science and knowledge and to be keen to provide the conditions for success for students and students, the following is its full text:

“In the name of God the Merciful

And prayers and peace be upon His messengers

Our celebration of Science Day is renewed, in which we remember the march of Sheikh Abdel Hamid bin Badis as a symbolic pause, expressing the culture of gratitude to the nation’s men, scholars, intellectuals and creators.

On this occasion, we affirm once again that it is inevitable to possess the tools of power inherent in science and knowledge, and we renew our keenness to provide the conditions for success for millions in the three stages of education (more than 11 million), for male and female students at the university (one million and 700 thousand) and for those affiliated with education and vocational training centers (more than 500 thousand) so that this increasing number of our daughters and sons is our bet to bring about transformation with this promising generation that is open to the world towards the desired future.

In this regard, we have sought to support schooling with school grants, feeding, transportation, and school health. I have always reiterated my appreciation for the message of teachers and educators, and I recommend listening to them, because they carry the trust of raising young people with a sense of citizenship and patriotic spirit.

We have also increased the financial allocations directed to higher education and scientific research, and we have stressed the need to formulate an ambitious legislative structure that stimulates scientific research, innovation and the creation of emerging institutions, as well as the creation of new universities and higher schools and poles of excellence in exact sciences and technology.

Finally, this occasion allows me once again to salute the efforts of teachers, professors and educators, and in this opportunity I extend my greetings and appreciation to the sheikhs and imams of corners across the country who continue the approach of the blessed predecessors in empowering our moderate national religious reference.
