President Tebboune decides to hold a “speech to the nation” before Parliament

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, decided to establish an annual address to the nation before the two chambers of Parliament combined, as an occasion to evaluate the political, economic and social conditions.

According to what the Algerian News Agency reported on Tuesday, “starting at the end of the current year 2023, the President of the Republic will participate in this constitutional activity called ‘Speech to the Nation,’ and it will constitute an opportunity for the President to address representatives of the people, in order to evaluate the achievements of the current year.”

For the president, this annual speech will also constitute “an occasion to evaluate the political, economic and social conditions, as well as the country’s foreign policy, without neglecting to determine the prospects for the following year.”

The President of the Republic’s first “Speech to the Nation” will be in a special edition this year, because it will be the first of its kind, and will include a complete assessment of the past four years, since the President took office in late 2019.

The decision falls within the “ Sunnahs ” approved by the President of the Republic, since he assumed power, most important of which is strengthening communication between institutions and the state, between them and the people. The “Speech of the Nation” will also be a prominent event in the two chambers of Parliament, as for the first time the President will come down to address the people through it after being marginalized for decades. .

Also, the president’s decision is not considered new, as he adopted a unique method of communication, which he adopted from the beginning of his rule, to communicate with Algerian men and women, adopting a style centered on his usual spontaneity and normal nature, through which he gained the admiration and influence of millions of citizens, taking advantage of several platforms. The most important of which is the periodic media meeting with the national press.

President Tebboune succeeded in breaking all the barriers between himself and his people, relying on his personality, which combines morals, integrity, simplicity, rigor, determination, and most importantly good leadership, as his speeches in press interviews, or even his departure from the text and reliance on improvisation in major appointments, had a great impact on Reaching the Algerian people.
