The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received on Sunday the head of the National Observatory for Civil Society, Noureddine Ben Braham, and members of his office, according to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic.
In this context, the head of the National Observatory for Civil Society, Noureddine Ben Braham, confirmed on Sunday the “direct support” that this body enjoys from the President of the Republic, which “will be strengthened in the coming stages through decisions that will advance the role and readiness of the Observatory.”
In a statement he made after he was received, along with members of his office, by President Tebboune, Ben Braham explained that this meeting focused on “the necessity of enabling civil society to play its role as a citizen force and an essential partner in good governance.”
In this context, the meeting discussed “legal empowerment mechanisms and supporting the position of civil society as a partner at the level of local governance,” adds Ben Braham, who considered the President of the Republic’s approach regarding civil society “a road map that enhances its role, whether at the legal level or in daily dealings with local and central administrations.” “.
It also centered – as Ben Brahem pointed out – on “the regional and international context that has repercussions on Algeria and the region as a whole,” highlighting primarily “the most important concerns of citizens and civil society.”
It is noteworthy that this meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic, falls within the context of “following up and evaluating the activities of this body, as well as listening to proposals and opinions related to the tasks assigned to the National Observatory for Civil Society.”
The reception was attended by the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Nadhir Al-Arbawi, and the Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of Legal and Judicial Affairs, Boualem Boualem.
