Outcome.. Arresting 11 elements of support for terrorist groups and seizing quantities of Moroccan kif – Al-Hiwar Al-Jazairia

In the context of the continuous efforts exerted in the fight against terrorism and against organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 18 to 24 January 2023, several operations that yielded qualitative results that reflect the extent of the high professionalism, vigilance and constant readiness of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory. .

Within the framework of counter-terrorism operations, joint detachments of People’s National Army arrested (11) elements supporting terrorist groups in separate operations across the national territory.

Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and as a continuation of the relentless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of People’s National Army, in coordination with the various security services, stopped (48) drug traffickers during operations across the military regions and thwarted attempts to bring in large quantities of drugs across the border with Morocco. , estimated at (08) quintals and (33) kilograms of treated kif, while (350) grams of cocaine and (716914) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.

In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Vizam, Djanet and Tindouf, detachments of People’s National Army arrested (184) people and seized (20) vehicles, (150) generators, (78) hammers, (05) metal detectors, and (10) Tons of a mixture of stones and raw gold, in addition to quantities of explosives, detonating equipment and other equipment used in illegal gold exploration operations, while (15) people were arrested and (06) hunting rifles were seized and huge quantities of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation were estimated at (166.35) tons, as well as (18.15) quintals of tobacco and (17377) units of various beverages, and this is during separate operations across the national territory.

On the other hand, border guards, in coordination with the National Gendarmerie, thwarted attempts to smuggle large quantities of fuel estimated at (35,156) liters in Souk Ahras, El Tarf, Tebessa-Tamanrasset and Djanet, while (235) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
