Outcome: 9 members of support for terrorist groups were arrested and two quintals and 43 kilograms of Moroccan kif were seized – Algerian Dialogue

In the context of the continuing efforts made to combat terrorism and combat organized crime in all its forms, units and detachments of the People’s National Army carried out, during the period from 18 to 24 October 2023, many operations that resulted in qualitative results that reflect the extent of the high professionalism and constant vigilance and readiness of our armed forces throughout the territory. the National:

Within the framework of the fight against terrorism, detachments of the People’s National Army were able to arrest (09) members of support for terrorist groups during separate operations across the national territory.

Within the framework of the fight against organized crime and in continuation of the tireless efforts aimed at confronting the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, joint detachments of the People’s National Army, in coordination with various security services during operations across the military regions, arrested (34) drug dealers and thwarted attempts to introduce two containers (02) and (43). A kilogram of processed kif crossed the border with Morocco, while (578,245) hallucinogenic tablets were seized.

In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah and Djanet, detachments of the People’s National Army arrested (155) people and seized (16) vehicles, (156) electric generators, (94) pressure hammers, and (01) metal detector, in addition to quantities of explosives and equipment. Detonation and equipment used in illegal gold prospecting operations, while (29) other people were arrested and (01) Kalashnikov machine gun, (18) hunting rifles, (04) automatic pistols, (19,570) liters of fuel, and ( 14) tons of foodstuffs destined for smuggling and speculation, and (14) quintals of tobacco, during separate operations across the national territory.

On the other hand, coast guards thwarted illegal immigration attempts on our national coasts and rescued (30) people who were on board traditional-made boats, while (208) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
