The media day is organized within the framework of the media outings of the various media outlets programmed by the National Gendarmerie Command. In his speech, Brigadier General Osman stated that the institute contributes to providing scientific expertise to the units of the National Gendarmerie working in the field in the field of judicial police, adding that the institute has several tasks that include: completing scientific analyzes and expertise for the benefit of the judiciary, investigators and specialists, providing technical support to the regional units of the National Gendarmerie, as well as training… Specialized investigators, judges, and forensic doctors, in addition to postgraduate training in forensic science and criminology. Among the Institute’s tasks is also organizing scientific demonstrations with various partners, and completing studies and research. Related to the factors of development of social phenomena.
The Dean also pointed out that the Institute has been considered a pioneer in the field of forensic evidence since it was put into service, as all available means have been provided to reach the set goals through the analytical methods adopted in accomplishing its tasks, as this accreditation is considered an explicit recognition of the Institute’s efficiency in performing expertise and various matters. The Institute also received the honor of being within the network of laboratories accredited by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. It is thus the only institute at the African level and the Arab world to hold this status, as it recently received the Distinguished Award – Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons – The Hague 2024, in appreciation of its efforts to Achieving the objectives of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

During the media day, journalists were introduced to the various facilities available at the institute, as well as the modern means and equipment in place that allow criminal cases to be dealt with as quickly as possible, especially complex ones.
In a statement by the head of the Information and Communication Service led by the National Gendarmerie, Lieutenant Colonel Abdelkader Bziou, he said: “The National Institute of Forensic Evidence and Criminology in Bouchaoui includes highly qualified staff who carry out several tasks that assist investigators in the field. The institute also follows more than 90 scientific methods approved by the National Gendarmerie. by international bodies, and the results obtained at the institute level are internationally recognized.
The presenter adds that the institute includes several annexes at the national level, in Oran, Ouargla, ConstantineIn the future, in Bashar and Tamanrasset, this is in order to facilitate the access of the results of various experiences and analyzes to the units working in the field in order to reach a solution to the various issues.
