Oran.. Opening of the 1st edition of the International Salon for Thermal, Electric and Hybrid Vehicles – Algerian Dialogue

The activities of the first edition of the International Salon of Thermal, Electric and Hybrid Vehicles were opened today, Monday, at the “Mohamed Bin Ahmed” Convention Center in Oran, with the participation of about 20 exhibitors.

The director of the salon, Murad Shaboub, stated that this economic event organized by the company “Sarl Moca Com”, which specializes in organizing demonstrations and exhibitions, constitutes an important space for investors and researchers in the field of the automotive industry, pointing out that the automotive sector has witnessed the return of international brands to the Algerian market. Thanks to the state’s efforts in this field.

This first edition, organized over a period of six days under the slogan “The Present and Future of Cars,” will be attended by five brands specialized in manufacturing and importing vehicles, especially utility vehicles and trucks, such as the Chinese “Hoho,” “Korean Pingbu,” and “Daewoo” complexes.

The Automotive Industry Development Corporation, affiliated with the Military Industries Directorate, also participates by displaying a series of utility and industrial vehicles, trucks, and special cars. Tomorrow, Tuesday, the same institution will unveil new tractor trucks and buses that have been developed.

The Research Center for Industrial Technologies of the General Directorate of Scientific Research, under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is also participating in this economic appointment, which is currently working on completing designs for a number of projects related to electric cars, according to the Assistant Director of the Center, Ben Ammar Abdel Salam.

The same official stated on the sidelines of the opening of this demonstration that “the center is currently working on developing batteries and a conversion and control system for electric cars, as well as developing an engine with an Algerian institution dedicated to electric cars.”

He added that the center is in advanced stages of completing designs related to the dashboard of electric vehicles and the navigation and positioning system for vehicles.

During the show’s activities, specialists looking for transportation, loading and maintenance solutions will discover all the leading companies in the field of manufacturing heavy goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, and producers of lubricants and spare parts.

On the sidelines of the salon, the organizers also programmed a series of lectures covering “the new vehicle standards in Algeria,” “Algeria’s new approach to developing the automobile industry,” “the suitability of electric cars in Algeria,” “the national energy control program for sustainable mobility,” and others.
