Opening of the second edition of the Electronic Trade and Services Salon with the participation of more than 90 exhibitors – Al-Hiwar Algeria

The second edition of the Electronic Trade and Services Salon opened today, Wednesday, in Algiers, with the participation of more than 90 exhibitors, active in the fields of delivery, logistics and technology, in addition to financial institutions and insurance companies.

This economic event, organized from September 20 to 24 at the Maritime Pines Exhibition Palace, was opened by the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Emerging Enterprises and Micro-enterprises, Yassin Mahdi Walid, and the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Karim Bibi Triki.

By the way, Minister Mahdi Walid considered that this salon “reflects the status of electronic commerce in Algeria,” especially after the success of the first edition, which “was popular and a large number of visitors,” recalling the state’s efforts to adapt various laws to the requirements of electronic commerce.

In this context, the Minister stressed that the challenge that must be addressed is to strengthen confidence between the Algerian consumer and electronic payment methods, especially in light of the availability of more than 15 million bank and gold cards in the national market, highlighting the role played by activists in this field to achieve this goal.

For his part, Minister Bebe Tricky praised the progress recorded in the field of electronic commerce, which he considered “the trade of the future,” noting that his sector seeks to encourage this trade and services by developing infrastructure such as the Internet and communications.

In this context, the Minister pointed out that 3.5 million families have been connected to fixed Internet, which reflects the great direct efforts of the state in this endeavour.

It is worth noting that the salon aims to unify efforts to grow electronic commerce and services by promoting their use in the daily lives of citizens and companies, according to the organizers.

The salon will also organize a group of lectures in order to accompany project holders, in addition to awarding a prize for the best digital service.

The organizers expect to receive 50,000 visitors during the event, which is organized on an area of ​​4,200 square metres.
