On the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday – Algerian dialogue

oussama

Tomorrow, Muslims will celebrate the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad – may God bless him and grant him peace – by commemorating his Sunnah and hearing about his fragrant biography. So that new generations can learn from him and know more about his great personality as a prophet of Islam whom God sent as guidance and mercy to the worlds.

He is Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abdul Muttalib.

He was born in Mecca in the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal in the Year of the Elephant, which corresponded to the Gregorian year 571 AD.

The Prophet Muhammad was born an orphan; His father died while he was a fetus in the womb of his mother, Mrs. Amna bint Wahb, so he was raised by his grandfather Abdul Muttalib, one of the nobles of Quraysh.

His mother, Mrs. Amna, died when he was a young child.

After the death of his grandfather Abdul Muttalib, he was raised by his uncle Abu Talib.

When he was young, peace and blessings of God be upon him, he worked in sheep herding and then in trading, and he was called the honest and trustworthy.

At the age of twenty-five, he married Mrs. Khadija bint Khuwaylid (may God be pleased with her).

God Almighty sent his revelation to him when he was forty years old, and before that he was constantly worshiping in the cave of Hira.

The Holy Prophet migrated from Mecca to Medina when he was fifty-three years old.

He died – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – on the twelfth of Rabi’ al-Awwal in the eleventh year of the Noble Hijra.

Regarding the status of the day on which he was born, it is proven in Sahih Muslim: On the authority of Abu Qatada Al-Harith bin Rabi’, may God be pleased with him: “And he was asked – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – about fasting on Monday. He said: That is the day I was born, and the day I was sent, or it was revealed to me on it.”

However, the hadith that most revealed the greatness and status of the day of the Messenger’s birth was what was authentically reported on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he said: “And the vision of my mother, who saw that a light came out of her, illuminating the palaces of the Levant.” Al-Hakim reported it, just as Ibn Hibban reported in his Sahih that he was born – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. He, peace and blessings be upon him, raised his head to the sky, “and he did not fall as children do; He fell, placing his hand on the ground and raising his head to the sky.”
