Today, Saturday, Olympic Akbou Club secured its promotion to the first National Professional Football League Championship. This announced the beginning of the celebrations in the city, which belongs to the state of Bejaia.
Akbou’s promotion was guaranteed after defeating its guest, 1-0, in the 26th round of the Central-East group of the Second Division Championship – Amateur.
The representative of the state of Bejaia raised his score thanks to this victory to 64 points. A full 15 points ahead of its direct pursuer, MC Batna, which settled for a draw with its host Olympiad Al-Muqrin (2-2). Which means it is impossible for the Auras to join the Akbou club, 4 rounds before the end of the tournament.
Olympia Agbou Club is considered one of the oldest Algerian clubs, but it has never played in the first national football division.
