Nguez talks about Mahrez’s return to the Algerian national team – New Algeria

Nabil Nguez, assistant coach of the national team, Vladimir Petkovic, spoke about the possibility of Riyad Mahrez returning to the Algerian national football team, in the near future.

Mahrez’s absence came at the request of the new coach of the Algerian national team, the Bosnian-Swiss Vladimir Petkovic . This is under the pretext of his lack of physical and moral preparation.

Some observers understood, through this request, that Riad intends to retire internationally. Many observers also saw that Petkovic is also considering dispensing with the services of the former star of the English club Manchester City. This was after his absence from the last camp, which witnessed the emergence of a new and brilliant squad within an offensive plan different from the one of which Mahrez was one of the main pillars of it during the era of former national voter Djamel Belmadi.

But all these hypotheses can be canceled after the new statement of the national team’s assistant coach, Nabil Nghiz.

Ngiz said in statements to the “Dunya TV” channel, yesterday, Sunday, and was reported by the website winwin Qatari, today, Monday: “Mahrez will continue to play with the Greens, as he is still capable of providing an addition to the national team.”

Nguez added, explaining: “Coach Petkovic has already communicated with Mahrez and Slimani in individual communications.”

He continued, in another context: “There are also negotiations underway now with new names who have not played for the Algerian national team before.”

It is noteworthy that Riyad Mahrez, who is 33 years old, joined the Algerian national team for the first time, in March 2014, before participating with the “Greens” in the FIFA World Cup finals, which took place in the summer of the same year in Brazil.
