During the last four days, the competent services of national security, at the level of the states of Algiers and Tamanrasset, were able to seize 1,398,480 capsules of psychotropic substances, and 1 kg and 172 grams of cocaine.
The National Security statement today stated that the market value of the seized items reached 100 billion centimes, with the arrest of 25 suspects, including two women, and the recovery of 8 vehicles, two trucks and 3 motorcycles.
The major operation was carried out by the competent judicial police services of Rouiba, Tamanrasset and the mobile division of the judicial police of Kobba.
The same statement also indicated that the data on these international criminal networks was placed at the disposal of the Central Service for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking (SCLTIS) for exploitation and further investigation.
This operation comes only seven months after an attempt to flood Algeria on the eve of Ramadan with more than one and a half million hallucinogenic tablets.
