Murad: President Tebboune attaches great importance to developing and improving the country’s major cities – Algerian Dialogue

The Minister of the Interior, Local Governments and Urban Development, Mr. Ibrahim Murad, confirmed on Monday that the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is paying “extreme care” to improving the largest cities in Algeria and modernizing their lifestyle.

The Minister, in a speech he delivered on the occasion of the President of the Republic’s supervision of a presentation on “The Strategic View for the Development and Modernization of the Capital,” at the Palace of Culture, Mufdi Zakaria, explained that “in parallel with the development movement established by the President of the Republic at various levels, he pays great attention to improving the largest cities and modernizing their lifestyle.” “In a manner consistent with the economic, cultural and technological horizons that shape most of the reforms.”

He mentioned, by the way, that the “priority” that the President of the Republic gives to the country’s capital stems from “his concern for it to be given the status it deserves, because of its rich historical heritage and promising qualifications.”

Within the framework of this approach – the Minister adds – “the care given by the President of the Republic to rehabilitate the country’s capital (Al-Mahrousa), restore its historical luster and advance it to become a pole of Arab and African Islamic radiation, thus becoming a source of pride for all its people and a source of inspiration for its visitors” is evident. “It is a mirror that reflects the ambitious leap achieved by the new Algeria, whose fingerprints are evident in various fields.”

Mr. Murad highlighted that this is “a firm will that everyone, including central and local authorities, seeks to embody through this strategic vision,” noting, by the way, that “taking care of citizens’ concerns and their living conditions formed the nucleus of the instructions of the President of the Republic, around which all the public policies he approved were centered.”

He continued in the same context that the President of the Republic “initiated a package of development measures that affected the various regions of the country according to a comprehensive, integrated perspective, based on balance and equity,” as well as “rehabilitating the regions and enhancing their attractiveness through strategic projects, thus forming a tributary to the economic and social mobility that The country is witnessing it.”

He added that, in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, during the past two years, “a number of structured projects were launched that would – as he said – accommodate the development concerns of the state of Algiers,” highlighting that the state’s interests were also engaged in “developing a multi-dimensional strategic vision, aimed at establishing an identity.” “Renewing the capital and elevating it to be a center of excellence that blends the cultural fragrance with the modern urban patterns of major Mediterranean and international smart cities.”

In turn, the Governor of the State of Algiers, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Nour Rabhi, confirmed that the strategy of developing and modernizing the capital aims to “embody the efforts of the President of the Republic to upgrade the country’s capital in a manner commensurate with its status, strategic location, historical and cultural heritage, as well as the qualifications it possesses.”
