MP Elimi participates in the meeting of the Bureau of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union – Al-Hiwar Algeria

Today, Wednesday, Farida Elimi participated in a virtual meeting of the Bureau of the Parliamentary Women’s Forum of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. The work of this meeting was devoted to reviewing the latest activities related to gender equality, as well as setting the agenda of the forum during the work of the next General Assembly of the Union, scheduled for October 2023, in Angola.

In her intervention during the meeting, Elemi explained that Algeria attaches great importance to the issue of women’s empowerment and their involvement in decision-making. In this context, she reviewed the legal arsenal related to issues of protecting women and girls from violence and empowering them politically, economically and socially.

It is worth noting that Elemi participated in this meeting in her capacity as Senior Vice President of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians.
