Mokhtar Didouch supervises the opening of the new academic year for Algerian tourism training institutions – Al-Hiwar
Today, Sunday in Algiers, the Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry, Mokhtar Didouch, supervised the opening of the new academic year 2023-2024 for the training institutions under the supervision of the tourism sector.
In a speech during his supervision of the opening ceremony of the National Higher School of Tourism, the Minister explained that the launch of the new university season also includes national institutes specialized in vocational training, and this is an embodiment of the agreements concluded in this field, indicating that his sector seeks to expand training across the national territory through Opening annexes to national institutes and schools to enable the largest number of students to enroll in academic and professional training in the tourism field.
These efforts, Didush adds, fall within the framework of “embodying the sector’s strategy aimed at developing tourism in accordance with what was stated in the government’s action plan emanating from the commitments of the President of the Republic.”
In this regard, the Minister called on the officials of the National Higher School of Tourism and other institutes to “ensure the implementation of the pedagogical program through theoretical and applied lessons that allow students to possess sufficient and necessary skills,” indicating that his ministerial department will work, in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Scientific Education, to “Developing training programs for the benefit of students at the National Higher School of Tourism in line with developments in the tourism sector in the world, especially in the field of digitization and artificial intelligence.”
In the same context, Didush stressed that tourism is among the sectors that “the state is betting on to diversify the national economy,” which requires – as he said – “achieving high quality in services and reception and providing good and diverse training.”
For his part, the director of the National Higher School of Tourism, Nabil Ben Makhali, mentioned the role that the school plays in the field of tourism training through training “in line with the requirements of the labor market,” highlighting that the organization of the university entrance competition for new students in the bachelor’s and master’s stages “took place in good conditions.” “All the necessary capabilities were made available to her.”
