Ministry of Commerce: 51,000 merchants employed to work on Eid days – New Algeria
More than 51,000 merchants across the national territory were harnessed to ensure continuity within days Eid Next, according to a statement yesterday by the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion.
The statement stated that the interests of the Ministry of Commerce and Export Promotion have drawn up a special program to ensure regular supply to citizens of widely consumed materials and services during the period. Eid al-Fitr 1445 AH (2024 AD), where 51,282 merchants were employed distributed over several activities.
This includes 6,366 merchants in the field of bakeries, 27,949 merchants in the field of selling general foodstuffs, vegetables, and fruits, in addition to 16,462 merchants in various activity sectors, as well as 483 production units, including 127 dairy products, 312 mills, and 44 mineral water production units.
To monitor the extent of implementation of the rotation program, 2,540 supervisory agents were deployed across the entire national territory, the statement adds.
Underline comes Business maintenance program In application of the provisions of Article 8 of Law No. 13-06 of July 31, 2013 amending and supplementing Law No. 04-08 of August 14, 2004 relating to the conditions for practicing commercial activities.
This law stipulates that “failure to respect the obligation to maintain attendance shall be punished by a fine ranging from 30,000 DZD to 200,000 DZD.”
