Minister of Labor: That is why the Eid Al-Fitr and Al-Adha holidays have been extended – Al-Hiwar Algeria
The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Faisal Ben Taleb, presented today, Thursday, the bill amending Law No. 63-278 of July 26, 1963 defining the list of official holidays before the members of the Committee on Health, Social Affairs, Labor and Vocational Training of the National People’s Assembly.
During the presentation, the Minister of Labor stated that the draft, which amends the provisions of Article 1 of Law No. 63-278, came to extend the period of paid vacation granted on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha from two to three days.
In this context, the minister indicated that the draft law would allow citizens in general and workers in particular to celebrate these two great religious occasions, especially those who live in states other than the states of their workplace, to perform religious and social duties, which require sufficient time to come and go and avoid unjustified absenteeism from work. Faisal bin Talib also mentioned that this amendment came in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic to extend the Eid Al-Fitr and Al-Adha holidays, in response to the concerns of citizens.
