The Minister of the Interior, Local Governments and Urban Development, Ibrahim Murad, revealed that, in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, procedures for the acquisition of 6 fire suppression aircraft with a capacity of 3,000 liters were initiated by the Tassili Company before the end of the first semester of the current year.
The Minister highlighted that a road map has been prepared that includes proactive and preventive measures to avoid forest fires during the coming summer.
The Minister explained in his speech on the occasion of the installation of the National Committee for Forest Protection, season 2024, with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Youssef Charfa, that the state is working through all its institutions to “mobilize all material and human energies to avoid the recurrence of disasters resulting from forest fires and to preserve lives and property, in A roadmap framework that was prepared and developed with the involvement of various ministerial sectors, relevant departments, civil society and local residents.”
