Representing the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Badari, met with the Cuban Minister of Higher Education, Walter Garcia, and discussed with him ways and means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of training, higher education and scientific research, especially artificial intelligence and quantum automated media. They also discussed the most important mechanisms that could be created that might allow this cooperation to be embodied and implemented, through concluding twinning agreements between Algerian higher education institutions and their Cuban counterparts, and preparing joint training and research offers.
It is noteworthy that the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Badari, participates alongside the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Emerging Enterprises and Micro-enterprises, Yassine Mahdi Walid, as representatives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the G77 plus China summit, on September 15 and 16, 2023, which will be held in the Cuban capital, Havana. In the presence of the heads of state and government of the Group of 77 plus China, and the participation of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, under the slogan Current Development Challenges: The Role of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Over the course of two days, participants in the summit meet to discuss a range of topics and issues related to development, such as the role of science, technology and innovation, in addition to the challenges facing developing countries in achieving scientific and technological progress. Participants in this summit also discuss issues related to the repercussions of the Corona epidemic and the rise in prices. Food and energy, market fluctuations, inflation, debt burdens, climate change, and geopolitical tensions and conflicts that arise in multiple regions of the world.
