Mediouni: The number of passengers will reach 10 million in December – New Algeria

Not far from that, Mediouni said that Algiers International Airport is witnessing great activity that comes in the context of the increase witnessed in aviation activity in the country and the world, on the one hand, and the reductions approved by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on air transport tickets in the recent period, on the other hand.
In the same context, he stressed the importance of improving Services Management of Algiers International Airport to bring it up to international standards, by exploiting modern technologies, noting in this regard that a proposal for an agreement has been submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which includes a partnership between the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Higher Media Students in order to work together to modernize the facility and improve conditions. Taking care of travelers and giving university students an opportunity.
In addition, Mediouni noted the launch of a digitization program that includes facilities for issuing a boarding pass within 10 seconds, using the national ID card, pointing to the introduction of two projects, the first related to registering goods and the other related to facial recognition technology, in order to facilitate the arrival process for passengers and reduce boarding times.
Regarding the Hajj season, the same speaker confirmed that all services were provided to the pilgrims to facilitate the process of their transportation to the Holy Places, where special measures were taken regarding the pilgrims’ companions, and all the services they needed were provided outside the airport, such as providing places to eat and prayer halls, as well as Strengthening medical teams at the airport level to take care of urgent cases for pilgrims, while providing teams to accompany the movement of passengers with special needs at the airport level.
