Lotfi Zenadi inspects the water desalination plant project in Ras El-Abyad, Oran-El Hewar, Algeria

The President and Director General of the Algerian Energy Company, Lotfi Zenadi, embarked on a working visit and inspected the water desalination plant project in Ras El Abyad, Oran Province, accompanied by the President, General Director of the National Company for Civil Engineering and Construction, Abdelghani Ben Djebba. last June.

The visit is within the framework of the state’s keenness on the need to achieve water security for Algeria and in accordance with the supplementary program launched by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in December 2024, and in the interest of the Sonatrach group, headed by President and Director General Taoufik Hakkar, to complete this program within its specified deadlines.

This visit comes after the completion of part of the engineering plans and the initial stages of the project. On the way, the President and General Manager of the Algerian Energy Company, Lotfi Zenadi, gives the signal to start the first concrete casting process, which moves the project to another stage.

On this occasion, Lotfi Zenadi stressed the necessity of observing the agreed schedule, and the head of the Algerian Energy Company stressed the need to use all advanced systems in this project and to put all the capabilities to deliver it within the specified deadlines, including working in the shift system. Lotfi Zenadi stated that the Algerian Energy Company is like The state’s tool in applying the strong political will to ensure water security for Algeria, accompanied by a group of Algerian national companies affiliated to the Sonatrach group.

It should be noted that the water desalination plant project for Ras Al-Abyad in the municipality of Ain El Karma, Oran, with a capacity of 300,000 cubic meters per day, this vital facility will cover the needs of the western side of Oran for drinking water.
