The ceremony honoring the national military sports elites participating in the African Military Games in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, which was chaired by the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, concluded on Wednesday at the People’s Palace in Algiers.

The ceremony began with listening to the national anthem, followed by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Saeed Chengriha, delivering a speech on the occasion.

In this regard, Lieutenant General Saeed Shangriha confirmed that the results achieved by the military sports elites were “exceptional and unprecedented, allowing our country to seize second place in the overall standings after the organizing country.”

In this regard, he pointed out that “as much as the People’s National Army considers sport in its comprehensive sense an integral part of the combat preparation of individuals, it considers it an integral part of the training system program,” highlighting by saying: “We in the People’s National Army were keen, under the guidance of the President of the Republic, to Providing all the necessary material and human resources to develop military sports, which has contributed and continues to contribute to achieving honorable results in this field at the continental and international levels.”

He added that the efforts being made “aim to form a professional army in the fullest sense of the word, within the framework of adhering to national values ​​and constants inspired by the bright wealth of our victorious revolution and our glorious history.”

The honoring ceremony took place in the presence of senior state officials, members of the government, and senior officials in the state.

It should be noted that the President of the Republic was received upon his arrival at the People’s Palace by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant General Said Chengriha, and the Commander of the Republican Guard, Lieutenant General Ben Ali Ben Ali, along with the commanders of the forces. And the commander of the first military district.

The President of the Republic had earlier congratulated these sporting elites for achieving second place in Africa with 96 medals, including 53 gold, a result that reflects – as he said – “the high and professional level of our military elite, and the level of training to which all members of the People’s National Army, descendant of the National Liberation Army, undergo.” , in various weapons.”
