Lieutenant General Al-Said Chanegriha supervises the implementation of a naval tactical exercise at the western waterfront – Al-Houwar Al-Jazairia

Lieutenant General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of People’s National Army, devoted the second day of his visit to the 2nd Military Region, to supervising the implementation of a naval tactical exercise, at the level of the western waterfront.

Where, at the main naval base in Mers-el-Kebir, and after the reception ceremony by Major General Mahfouz bin Maddah, Commander of the Navy, the team reviewed the first naval formation of the floating units, which gave him the honorary salute.

After that, in the meeting room, the Lieutenant General, accompanied by the Commander of the Second Military Region, listened to two presentations about the stages and progress of the exercise, which comes as a culmination of the combat preparation program for the year 2022-2023, by the Commander of the Naval Forces and the Commander of the Western Waterfront.

After that, the Lieutenant General and his accompanying delegation moved aboard the command ship and deployed the forces to Qalaat Bani Abbas to follow the phases and course of the exercise, which included firing a missile at a surface target, storming a suspicious ship and stopping it, using combat helicopters and speed boats, and finally, entering to secure a coastal energy facility and eliminating a terrorist group.

This complex exercise, which falls within the framework of ascertaining the operational effectiveness of the participating naval ships’ weapons systems, was successfully implemented as the naval targets were destroyed with high accuracy, along with the success of other combat actions represented in the arrest of a suspicious ship and the securing of a coastal energy facility, which is another success and the fruit of the good control of the crews in the various weapons and equipment, which also confirms the development and operational readiness reached by the units of the Algerian Navy in recent years.

At the main naval base of Marsa El-Kebir, the Lieutenant General met with the executives and personnel of the western waterfront, where he delivered an orientation speech in which he congratulated the executives and employees of the units participating in the naval tactical exercise, stressing the permanent keenness of the High Command of People’s National Army to build the foundations of our professionalism on the human element, which must fully adapt to the data and requirements of professional work.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Lieutenant General listened to the interventions of the executives and personnel of the Western Waterfront, who expressed their constant readiness to solve all operational challenges in the jurisdiction.
