Launching the first “Algeria-MercyTech Meetup” in Algiers: a catalyst for innovation and technology in Algeria Today, the HABA Institute in Algiers hosted the first MercyTech Meetup, Algeria.MercyTech Meet up
This meeting brought together an important group of local and international Algerian technological talents, to promote technological innovation in seven key priority sectors for Algeria’s development. In a world where technological innovation is advancing at an unprecedented pace, Algeria aspires to become a major player in Africa’s knowledge economy.
MercyTech is designed to be a catalyst for this innovation ecosystem, by encouraging collaboration between entrepreneurs, experts, researchers, investors and decision-makers. Today’s program included a series of events, by several committees, to discuss sensitive topics, including: the role of Algerian intelligence abroad in stimulating the development of technological companies and facilitating their access to international markets. Objective: To study the potential of Algerian talents abroad to enhance technological and commercial development in Algeria.
Developing Algerian technological competencies, current situation and perspective. Objective: To analyze the current situation and prospects for developing technological competencies in Algeria, to align Algerian institutions with international standards. Developing the Algerian technological ecosystem: tools for financing and accompanying innovative start-ups. Objective: To examine effective ways to access international finance, discuss financing tools and consider establishing national funds to support technology startups in Algeria.
