Launching a project to construct a new passenger terminal at Houari Boumediene Airport – New Algeria

The President and Director General of the Algiers Airport Services and Facilities Management Company, Mokhtar Mediouni, announced the imminent launch of a project to construct a new passenger terminal east of Houari Boumediene Airport, in response to the increasing flow of passengers in the coming years.

When referring to the partnership agreement signed with university institutions, Mediouni highlighted the importance of this partnership with the university in order to develop technological solutions, especially in the field of artificial intelligence.

“In order to respond to the demand that will be increasing, we must develop technological solutions that ensure the smooth flow of passenger traffic thanks to the facial recognition feature, knowing that we have capabilities within Algerian universities that enable us to implement these projects, and we are also ready to give Algerian students the opportunity to develop this technology.” Mr. Mediouni adds, indicating his commitment to receiving within his company the Algerian students who recently won the “Huawei ICT” international competition in China.
