Labor Day.. Wednesday, May 1, a paid holiday – Algerian Dialogue

Next Wednesday (May 1) will be a paid holiday for all employees of public institutions, administrations, public and private bodies and offices, and this is on the occasion of Labor Day, according to what was reported today, Monday, in a statement by the General Directorate of Public Service and Administrative Reform.

The statement explained that “on the occasion of Labor Day, and in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 63-278 of July 26, 1963, which includes the list of official holidays, amended and supplemented, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 is considered a paid holiday for all employees of public institutions, departments, public and private bodies and offices, as well as for all employees.” Public and private institutions in all sectors, regardless of their basic law, including daily or hourly employees.”

The same source pointed out that “the above-mentioned institutions, public administrations, agencies, offices and institutions must take the necessary measures to ensure continuity of service in the departments that operate on a rotational system.”
