In pictures: Rakhroukh supervises the installation of the permanent sectoral committee for scientific research and technological development – Algerian Dialogue

Today, Thursday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Minister of Public Works and Basic Establishments, Lakhdar Rakhroukh, supervised the installation of the permanent sectoral committee for scientific research and technological development, in the presence of the central frameworks of the Ministry and members of the same committee.

The appointment of this committee falls within the framework of implementing the national scientific research policy through strengthening and upgrading scientific research activities and technological development related to the public works sector and basic facilities, in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.

On this occasion, the Minister explained that the committee that was installed will work to provide an effective framework for coordination between bodies and institutions under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works, basic facilities and scientific research institutions from centers, institutes and universities, in addition to emerging institutions, with a focus on technological innovation in all stages of embodiment. Sector projects, from planning and completion to maintenance.

In this context, the Minister stressed the need to intensify and integrate efforts between the various actors in the sector, including Injaz institutions and companies, laboratories and study offices, to achieve sustainable development goals, while noting the importance of providing all the necessary capabilities to support scientific research in the sector, by adopting approaches and techniques. Advanced to ensure improved quality of performance in the completion of major projects, especially roads, highways, ports, airports, as well as railways and directed transportation.

The Minister also pointed out the importance of embodying this step in order to develop the sector by maintaining the sustainability of facilities, improving the level of services provided in response to the aspirations of citizens, achieving the optimal level of infrastructure construction costs, as well as improving management capabilities and using recyclable materials to preserve the environment, adding that Activating scientific and technological research represents a fundamental pillar of the country’s social and economic development.

In conclusion, the Minister affirmed his full support for the members of the Permanent Sectoral Committee for Scientific Research and Technological Development during the performance of their duties, especially research into innovative solutions and proposals for the various problems raised to provide added value to the sector.
