The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ali Aoun, embarked on his field visit, accompanied by the governor of the state of Algeria, Mohamed Abdel Nour Rabhi, from the industrial zone of Oued El-Smar, where he supervised the launch of the production and marketing of the first batches of insulin pens at the BioCare production unit.

The visit falls within the framework of state support for insulin production in order to ensure its availability and limit the monopoly of foreign laboratories and within the framework of accompanying local investors in the field of the pharmaceutical industry.

The minister appreciated the efforts of the “Biocare Biotech” laboratories to raise the challenge and supply the national market with locally manufactured insulin pens in all stages of the “full process” for the benefit of diabetes patients, stressing that the ministry, within its strategy, is always working to support and accompany project owners in the field of drug production, especially those with added value. High as insulin and anti-cancer.

BIOCARE BIOTECH is a laboratory specialized in the manufacture of biotechnology products with a complete production mode, including biosimilar medicines (insulin and insulin analogues).

The production unit is designed in accordance with the standards of good production practices in international practice (GMP / FDA), and includes one production line with a production capacity in two teams (2X8) estimated at 12 million cans (five pens) annually of insulin glargine; Insulin Aspart and Human Insulin Humaine.
