Journalists from foreign media outlets who participated in covering the seventh summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, held yesterday, Saturday in Algiers, unanimously agreed on the success of this summit, through the forum countries’ pledge in the “Algeria Declaration” to address the challenges of the global market.
The Al Jazeera news channel correspondent considered that the outcomes of the gas summit in Algeria “respond to the current challenges,” noting that what is most prominent in the Algeria declaration is that it “clearly expressed the concerns of the countries of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.”
Atef Qadadra added that the Algeria Declaration defended “the interests of gas source countries regarding long-term contracts,” especially since estimates indicate an increase in demand for this energy in the coming years.
As for the journalist at the International News Agency, “Junews”, Fadia Al-Husseini, she confirmed that the outcomes of the Algiers Summit respond to the challenges of the current stage with regard to the fundamental issues raised in the gas sector.
She also highlighted the importance of the summit’s location in Algeria, which enjoys, as she said, “great international respect,” which is confirmed by “the qualitative presence of member states in the forum.”
This is what journalist Hassan Haidar said in the Croatian Evening Newspaper, who confirmed that the Algeria summit was “extremely successful,” especially since it was reached to formulate a future vision in this sector that extends to 2025.
Journalist Samira Fremesh, head of the political section of the Kuwaiti newspaper “Al-Nahar”, stated that Algeria’s hosting of this summit constitutes in itself “a major achievement,” highlighting that the outcomes of the meeting included “new and important items that serve the peoples of the member states, in addition to the issue of market stability.” .
