Football journalism course: Al-Akhbariya topples Al-Hayat channel

The Al-Ikhbariya Complex team left its mark on the first successful appearance in the indoor football journalism tournament, which is being held for the third consecutive edition under the supervision of the National Organization of Algerian Sports Journalists, headed by Youssef Tazir, and sponsored by the National Union of General Contractors.

Khamasi Al-Akhbariya defeated its counterpart from Al-Hayat Channel, the holder of the first edition title, with a score of three goals to two, in the match hosted by the Oval Hall of the Mohamed Boudiaf Olympic Complex in the capital, late from Thursday night to Friday.

The sportsmanship prevailed in the confrontation, which lasted for nearly an hour, in the presence of a group of media professionals and athletes.

A great competitive spirit demonstrated by the team

The presence of only two members in the Al-Akhbariya bench did not prevent the main players from raising the challenge and standing for most of the match due to the great effort required by a sport such as indoor football, as they overturned a two-goal deficit in the match to win by three goals in the second half.

The comrades of the brilliant goalkeeper, Ibrahim Hosseini, were able to neutralize the counterattacks of the competitor, who gathered in his area after he advanced in the score, to penetrate his fortresses through organized attacks.

This victory allowed Al-Ikhbariya Group to rise to first place in the second group, shared with its counterparts from the Algerian Public Television Corporation EPTV2, who finished the first match against Al-Fajr newspaper in their favor by six goals to three.

The second round summit between Al-Ikhbariya and the Algerian Public Television Corporation, scheduled to be held on Tuesday evening (22:00) in the Oval Hall, will separate the identity of the first qualifiers to the round of 16 from the same group.

The Al-Hayat TV and Al-Fajr newspaper teams will throw all their weight to make amends in the second match, which will bring them together on the same day, starting at 23:00 pm.

The final round will be played on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24. On this day, Al-Akhbariya will meet the Al-Fajr newspaper team at exactly ten o’clock in the evening.
