On Thursday, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) issued its new national team classification for the month of December, revealing that the Algerian national team (the Greens) remained in 30th place.

With this new classification, the Algerian national team will end the year 2023 in 30th place globally, fourth in Africa and third in the Arab world.

During last November’s rankings, the national team rose three places, thanks to its successful start in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, after two wins against the Somali national team (3-1) and the Mozambican national team (2-0).

As for the “Greens” competitors in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast (which will start in January 2024), the Burkina Faso team maintained the 57th place in the world, while the Angola team remained in the 157th place, and Mauritania in the 105th place, according to what was reported by the Algerian News Agency.

As for the global ranking, Argentina, the holder of the last World Cup title, retained the lead in the final rankings for the year 2023, which did not witness any change at the level of the top 10 positions, as “Tango” remained in the lead, followed by France, England, Belgium, Brazil, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and Croatia. .

The FIFA statement explained that the biggest jump in this new classification was for the Panama national team, which rose by 20 places, followed by Moldova by 19 places, then Malaysia by 15 places, while the state of stability included 13 teams, including the Algerian national team.
