Fayed and Rakhroukh chair a coordination meeting to support investment in the public works sector – Algerian Dialogue

The Minister of Finance, Laziz Fayed, and the Minister of Public Works and Basic Establishments, Lakhdar Rakhroukh, discussed ways to enhance consultation and coordination to support the implementation of investment projects in the public works sector.

This came at a joint coordination meeting Thursday in the capital.

A statement by the Ministry of Finance stated that this meeting, which took place in the presence of senior officials from both sectors, focused on examining the mechanisms for financing investment projects in the public works sector, with special attention to the challenges associated with the financial and budgetary aspects related to the implementation of these programs.

In his intervention, the Minister of Finance stressed that the public works sector constitutes “a fundamental pillar for supporting economic growth and achieving sustainable development,” highlighting the importance of developing a practical cooperation framework aimed at accompanying the implementation of investment programs for the sector, thus contributing to strengthening the national infrastructure.

In the context of strengthening coordination between sectors, Fayed called on all bodies affiliated with his ministerial department to continue accompanying the public works sector “effectively.”

The two ministers expressed their commitment to continuing joint work to overcome existing challenges and develop innovative solutions that will support the sector and enhance its flexibility in facing current and future challenges.

It was reported that this initiative comes within the framework of government efforts aimed at advancing investment in infrastructure and providing appropriate conditions to achieve sustainable economic and social development.
