Extending the Algerian presidency of the Arab Parliamentary Union for a new term – New Algeria
The Arab Parliamentary Union announced, this Monday evening, in a meeting held in Cairo, the extension of Algeria’s term as head of Parliament.
This comes following the work of the thirty-sixth session of the Executive Committee of the Arab Parliamentary Union. Which was held this Monday evening, at the headquarters of the General SecretariatLeague of Arab States In Cairo.
The session was held under the chairmanship of Ibrahim BoghaliPresident of the National People’s Assembly, and President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, with the participation of Saed Arous, Head of the Parliamentary Group for the Presidential Third, Member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Parliamentary Union, and with Mr. Afif Sanoussa, Head of the Parliamentary Group for the Presidential Third in the National Assembly.
The session was devoted to reviewing the report of the Secretary-General of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union on the implementation decisions The Union’s conferences, the activities of its General Secretariat and its financial situation, as well as discussing the status of the General Secretariat’s headquarters, and approving the list of winners of the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award.
The committee decided to form two subcommittees emanating from it, one of which is concerned with the financial situation of the Federation, and the other is specialized in reviewing Charter The Union in order to update it with Arab and international developments and their new challenges, and to include a decision on the subject of the headquarters and the mechanisms for activating the permanent committees of the Union.
The members of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union unanimously decided to extend Algeria’s presidency of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union for a new term, after chairing this term. Parliamentary organization Regional conference since its thirty-sixth conference, which Algeria hosted on May 26 and 27, 2024.
