Experts: Algeria has great investment opportunities in the field of traditional and renewable energies

Specialists in economic affairs unanimously agree that Algeria is at the forefront of countries that possess a range of investment opportunities in the field of conventional and renewable energies, especially natural and unconventional gas, which enabled it to rank third in the world in terms of gas reserves.
In this regard, energy expert Khaled Boukhlifa stressed today, Monday, on the first radio channel, the huge potential that Algeria possesses in this field, highlighting in the same context the incentives provided by the hydrocarbons law for the year 2019, which encouraged attracting foreign investments, especially in the part related to taxes.
For his part, the energy expert, Ahmed Tartar, highlighted that the acceleration of the pace of exploration has strengthened Algeria’s position in the gas markets, especially since this material has received a great demand for use in the production of renewable energies, which has strengthened the exploration, research and investigation operations in the recent period, which led to about 36 explorations for gas and oil.
The same speaker went on to say, “It is an essential material for global societies and is less harmful to the environment. In addition, the trend now is towards renewable energies, and gas is involved in the formation of these renewable energies.”
The Sonatrach complex is working to include new modern technologies in the exploration process to enhance the gas production potential.
