Issued on Official Gazette A presidential decree includes the establishment of a national higher school in cybersecurity in Sidi Abdallah in the capital, Algiers.
According to what was stated in Issue No. 39 of the Official Gazette, the school will undertake the task of ensuring high training, scientific research and technological development, to graduate engineers and doctors with high-level scientific and technical competencies.
It also contributes to national efforts in the field of information systems security, and provides innovative, high-tech solutions in this field.
The decree stipulates that users specialized in the security of information systems at the Ministry of National Defense can contribute to the teaching and scientific research tasks at the school.
This comes during the international forum on state digital sovereignty, which was organized by the College of Political Science and International RelationsUniversity of Algiers3 Brigadier General Belghoul confirmed through his intervention that Algeria seeks, in coordination with state security bodies, to secure the information systems of all public institutions and structures, by strengthening protection programs, as well as assisting in auditing investigations and ways to confront attacks. Cyber And hacking systems through very advanced devices, which cause material, moral and security damage, such as leaking private data to institutions and natural and legal persons, thus threatening the stability of people and institutions and the security of the state.
The forum also discussed various forms of piracy, espionage, cybercrime and sabotage, which are witnessing a terrifying acceleration, and the Algerian state’s modernization of its strategies in order to confront cybersecurity.
