Dr. Bourzama: The new media law embodies the president’s commitments to promoting journalistic work in Algeria – Algerian Dialogue

Professor of Media and Communication, Dr. Mustafa Bourzama, confirmed this Monday that the media law was well prepared, and embodied the will of the President of the Republic to be forward-looking and accompany the transformations and challenges that the world is witnessing, in addition to being a means of local development and accompanying the citizen.
Bourzama said on the first radio channel, “The President of the Republic had pledged to support the media sector more and more through several measures that he announced while supervising the ceremony of handing over the President of the Republic’s Award to the Professional Journalist in its ninth edition for the benefit of the national media.”
Guest Al-Sabah added, “These measures confirm the President of the Republic’s fulfillment of his obligations with regard to supporting the press and media sector,” stressing that these measures “will encourage and revitalize the sector and make it “up to the challenges it faces at the national and international levels.”
The spokesman explained that the media sector is one of the basic pillars of democracy, noting that this sector has enjoyed several constitutional gains aimed at preserving the citizen’s right to a free and responsible media and for Algeria to have a strong press that supports democracy and a press capable of confronting all internal and external challenges and stakes, highlighting that these measures It will revive the journalism sector and enable many media institutions to overcome their difficult financial situation.
It is noteworthy that the President of the Republic announced a reduction in the cost of the Algerian News Agency tape for the benefit of the national media, as well as a reduction in the value-added tax, provided that its percentage and related measures are determined in the Supplementary Finance Law.
