Discussions to enhance cooperation between Algeria and Qatar in the field of media – Algerian Dialogue

Today, Monday, Minister of Communications Mohamed Laqab received His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Algeria. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Naama, who paid him a courtesy visit to congratulate him on the occasion of his appointment as Minister of Communications. The meeting was an opportunity to talk about the existing bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the field of media and communication.

By the way, the Minister of Communication affirmed the desire of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to strengthen cooperation relations between Algeria and Qatar and diversify them further in all fields, pointing to the importance of bilateral cooperation in the field of media training.

The Minister also noted the quality and strength of the Algerian-Qatari relations, especially as we head towards the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Algeria and Qatar in 2024, an occasion that the Minister of Communications stressed the need to highlight and accompany in the media to show the nature of the Algerian-Qatari relations and accompany all the gains and achievements achieved between the two countries.

The meeting also allowed talking about various aspects of cooperation to further strengthen the agreements concluded in the field of media to serve the two countries, including a draft memorandum of cooperation between the Algerian Public Television Corporation and Qatari Television, and another cooperation between the Algerian Radio Corporations and their Qatari counterparts.

For his part, the Qatari ambassador to Algeria stressed that the relations between the two countries are historical and sincere fraternal relations, indicating his country’s readiness to cooperate and extend a helping hand to the greatest extent in the fields of media education and training.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to talk about the latest preparations for holding the sixth session of the joint grand committee for cooperation between Algeria and Qatar, the date of which will be determined at a later time, with a focus on the role of the media in the two countries to make it a success.
