Cooperation between Bab Ezzouar University and Sonatrach for the benefit of students – New Algeria

Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology Bab Ezzouar signed a cooperation agreement with the Central Directorate for Research and Development of the complex Sonatrach With the aim of enhancing scientific and pedagogical exchanges between the two institutions, in the field of gas research and finding technological solutions to develop it.

The agreement was signed by the Dean of Bab Ezzouar University, Professor Jamal al-Din Akartash, and the Central Director of Research and Development at the Sonatrach Complex, Mohamed Mustafa Ben Amara, at the university’s headquarters, in the presence of the executives of the two institutions, within the framework of the agreement-framework signed between the two parties during the year 2021, which aims to Strengthening joint cooperation.

This joint cooperation aims to enhance research in gas, especially to find solutions to the presence of what is known as “black powder” in gas, which “petroleum companies suffer from in gas production and transportation by pipelines and containers, and the citizen also suffers from it in his private vehicle,” according to the explanations provided. By Dr. Researcher at the Central Directorate for Research and Development at Sonatrach, Khaled Qadi.

The occasion was an opportunity for Ben Amara to confirm that this agreement comes within the framework of the research program that Sonatrach is currently working on in all fields, as it aims to “enhance joint cooperation between the experts of the two institutions to establish program Research to study how to get rid of the black powder, which will constitute a new way of treating gas and allow the necessary amount of it to be exported abroad.”

Not far from that, the university dean confirmed that this agreement comes within the framework of the new outlook that the university is currently adopting, which is represented in its openness to the economic environment, especially with the Sonatrach complex, which is the leader in development.

The cooperation will enable the “Fluid Mechanics” laboratory of the University’s College of Physics to provide its contributions to solving the global problem of the presence of black powder in gas, as well as assisting university students, especially doctoral students, in establishing emerging institutions and mini-institutions.”
