Closing of National Road No. 1 at the “La Cote” level in the capital for a period of 6 months – New Algiers
The Algerian state authorities announced, to all users of the two axes of the national road No. 01 and the southern road in the place called “Lakot” Bir Mourad Rais, that it will be temporarily closed to traffic, starting from the night of Monday, June 24, 2024, for a period of (6) months.
According to a statement published by the Algeria state services, “All users of the axes of the national road No. 01 and the southern road in the place called “Lakot” Bir Mourad Rais, that it will be temporarily closed to traffic starting from the night of Monday, June 24, 2024 for a period of (6) months.”
The statement added, “The two ground tunnels will be closed for works, as traffic will be diverted in both directions in several stages, in the axes adjacent to the multi-modal land station at Bir Murad Rais, as shown in the attached plan, as follows for those coming from:
Blida, Algeria (towards Casablanca, Ben Aknoun and Bir Mourad Rais): On the bypass road at the entrance to the multi-modal land station “La Côte” Bir Mourad Rais, then directions towards Casablanca on the right and Ben Aknoun and Bir Murad Rais on the left.”
The statement indicated that “Casablanca and Bir Mourad Rais towards Blida: Traffic is guaranteed only through the surface of the crossroads under the bridge of the southern road “La Cote” and Bir Murad Rais and then heading towards Blida (the two ground tunnels are closed).”
The statement included, “The Bir Mourad Rais road towards Casablanca: Traffic is guaranteed through the bypass road of the Bir Mourad Rais multi-modal station and then heading towards Casablanca.”
The Algiers state authorities apologized for the inconvenience that this temporary closure will cause, and asked road users to use other road axes and respect the traffic signals and prohibition signs.
