Civil Protection… 4805 interventions within two days – Al-Hiwar Algeria

During the period from 04 to 06 May 2023, civil protection units recorded 4,805 interventions in different regions of the country, and this was after receiving distress calls from citizens. These interventions included various fields of civil protection activities, whether related to traffic accidents, home accidents, health evacuation, Fire suppression and security services.

And in the context of traffic accidents, the civil protection units carried out 399 interventions following several accidents recorded across several states. These accidents left 07 people dead and 422 others injured with varying degrees of severity. The victims were treated on the spot and transferred to hospital services.

The civil protection services also intervened in order to provide first aid to 07 people who had the beginning of suffocation as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide gas emitted from heating devices and water heaters in each of the governorates of Khenchela 06 people and the state of Annaba 03 people. The victims were taken care of on the spot and transferred in a stable condition to local hospitals.

In addition to this, the civil protection elements of the state of Djelfa intervened in order to recover 02 people who died of suffocation and another who had difficulty breathing from inside a well in the place called Kerirish, Zaafarana municipality. The victims were taken to the local hospital.

For your information, the Civil Protection intervened in order to extinguish 03 urban, industrial and different fires in the state of Algiers 01 fire and in the state of Constantine 02 fires, these fires injured 04 people with the onset of suffocation in the state of Constantine, following a fire that broke out with electrical appliances for a building located in the new city Ali Mingli, the municipality of Al-Kharoub, the victims were taken care of and transferred to the local hospital. Our first aid intervention enabled these fires to be controlled and prevented from spreading to other nearby places.
