22 drowning cases were recorded, 20 at the beach level and two (2) at the level of water bodies, during the last 24 hours, according to this Saturday, in a statement by the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and Urban Planning.
The same statement stated that “16 victims were recovered, including 11 from the forbidden beaches, three (3) cases from the guarded beaches of Al-Hamra Flag, and two victims from the water complexes, while the search process is still continuing to search for 6 others.”
The same source indicated that the number of victims “has increased by 127 cases since the 1st of last June, including 80 drowning cases at the beach level and 47 cases at the level of water bodies.”
The ministry attributed the reasons for recording this outcome to “non-compliance with safety instructions and procedures, especially during prohibited swimming times, as well as swimming in prohibited beaches, lakes, ponds, dams and water bodies.” In order to avoid this, the ministry stated the need to take “caution, follow the instructions, and not take risks.”
