When he was a guest on the “Morning Guest” program of Radio One, he highlighted that the public works and building materials sector has become the sector with the most ability to export, indicating that the new construction law will give a lot to the sector.

Stetti pointed out that the public works and building materials sector contributes to 16 percent of the gross domestic product, in a market that witnesses a massive presence of no less than 4,000 active institutions, expecting that the revision of the construction law will gradually improve matters.

Stiti noted that Algeria possesses institutions with international qualifications, and has the ability to achieve a distinguished presence in various international markets, especially with investment in logistics and the provision of specialized vessels.

Statei’s statements came hours after the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, revealed that the value of Algeria’s exports of building materials in 2022 would reach about $1.3 billion, an increase of about 56 percent. Building materials represented “Algeria’s most important non-hydrocarbon exports” during the last two years, as their share of total non-hydrocarbon exports amounted to 15 percent in 2021 and 11 percent in 2022.

Returning to Stetti’s statements to “Guest of the Morning”, he stated that the building materials sector in Algeria accommodates 209 exporters, and in return for his acknowledgment that the number remains small, the impact remains strong, as achieved by 99 cement exporters, 19 in the field of iron and steel, 25 in gypsum materials, 47 in ceramic tiles and others, adding that these have quality and are able to compete with Europeans, and he also saw that breaking into African markets requires time.

In return for recording the success of the public works and construction sector in overcoming the remnants of the Corona pandemic, he indicated that exporting is a profession in itself, envisioning that a great work must be done in terms of marketing, promotion and economic diplomacy.
