The website reported winwin Qatar Airways said on Wednesday that the arbitration committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) had appointed the Gabonese referee, Pierre-Ghislain Achou, to officiate the match between Algeria and Guinea in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Referee Ghislaine Achou has a tense relationship with the Algerian national football team, due to his involvement in serious refereeing errors, the most recent of which was when he was a VAR referee during the “Greens” participation in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals, which took place at the beginning of the year.
