The head of the National Observatory for Civil Society, Noureddine Ben Brahem, said today, Sunday, in Tissemsilt, that our historical reference is a base for today’s youth in raising future challenges in various fields.
In a media statement on the sidelines of a national forum on the national flag organized on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the massacres of May 8, 1945, Ben Brahem highlighted the presence of the advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of archives and national memory, Abdel Majeed Sheikhi, that “our historical reference is a base for today’s youth in raising future challenges in In various fields, where the importance of commemorating this memory lies in consolidating the memory and all the historical stock in the diaries, feelings and feelings of the Algerian youth, because this matter constitutes its historical reference and is a starting point for our youth to face the daily economic, cultural and social challenges.
During this meeting organized under the slogan “The National Flag, the symbol of the struggle of heroes and the source of pride for generations,” the head of the National Observatory for Civil Society mentioned the importance of linking the components of history, revolution, independence, institutions, preserving the state, as well as society and youth.
He stressed that “the historical extension, this affiliation and the succession of generations must remain in it, and the flag is the symbol that flies over the whole country, as it is a symbol of sovereignty that the Algerians place above their heads, preserving the trust for which the martyrs sacrificed.”
The National Observatory for Civil Society, through its organization of this forum, carries a message of loyalty to the martyrs and the generation that liberated Algeria, the promotion of national values today in the hearts of young people, and the strengthening of belonging to Algeria, which is considered a duty carried out by the Observatory and civil society,” according to Mr. Ben Brahem.
On the occasion, he mentioned that “11.5 million Algerian youth who are present in the system of education and training, from primary to university, constitute this generation that continues to preserve this symbolism, national unity, and facing future challenges, so that we will always remain loyal to the generation of martyrs.”
In the same context, he stressed that “the national flag has its own symbolism, as it brought together Algerians with all their components and collected their sacrifices, whether in the national movement, the reform movement, the statement of the first of November, the liberation revolution, and the martyrs.” Cultural and democratic diversity because it remains a symbol of national unity, history and sacrifices.
As for the state of Tissemsilt’s hosting of this forum, the matter bears, according to Mr. Ben Brahem, “a symbolic launch of the dynamic of development and the support of civil society for the participatory and democratic approach by expressing an opinion regarding what is happening within public affairs and enhancing opportunities for young people in their relationship with their homeland to be integrated individuals in the economic and social aspect.”
In the same regard, he said, “It is very important to bring together the new approach to participatory,” as he directed, by the way, “an invitation to civil society to promote the preservation of the young human resource through civil society associations, especially since Algerian youth are now exposed to the dangers and threats of drugs, psychotropic substances and other Other issues require concerted efforts to protect this human resource.
He also pleaded, by the way, for “diversifying civil society’s programmes, projects and activities so that it can be a key partner in good governance,” calling for “launching approaches related to the environment, economy, human rights, youth, women, and children’s rights, away from the old classic stereotypes.”
On the occasion, Ben Brahm directed his call “for a lively, conscious and harmonious civil society that interacts with current developments so that it is at the level of trust it derives from the citizen, and all of this is among the challenges that the National Observatory of Civil Society is betting on.”
This forum, which was hosted by the House of Culture “Mouloud Kacem Nait Belkacem” in Tissemsilt, was attended by about 350 professors, historians and representatives of civil society interested in the historical aspect from all parts of the country.
