Belabed: School sports move Algeria to respectable ranks – New Algeria

In this regard, the Minister explained in a press statement that the file of physical education and sports is taken care of Specialists At the level of 21 thousand schools across all of Algeria, which is a “major achievement,” he pointed out that the School Sports Directorate “will be concerned with implementing the national strategy for developing this type of sports and supporting it at the level of educational institutions in coordination with the relevant sectors, thus refining young talents that support Algeria’s endeavor to prepare Sports elites represent the country in international forums and competitions.”

Belabed continued, saying that he informed the President of the International Federation of School Sports during the meeting that “it was decided, in the context of the efforts made to develop school sports, to increase the volume of the physical education and sports subject starting from the next school year,” which he considered “an indication that Algeria will enter a new phase with regard to school sports.” .

He also confirmed that he had received a “good response” from the president of the Federation regarding what Algeria is doing in the field of promoting school sports, revealing at the same time that the Algerian party “is waiting for the embodiment of joint actions and achievements with the International Federation for School Sports, as confirmed by its first official.”

For his part, Laurent Petrinka praised Algeria’s efforts in the field of developing school sports, stressing that his visit to Algeria revealed to him the extent of “Algeria’s desire to transfer its model for school sports, which is a comprehensive approach approved by the President of the Republic, which does not only mean organizing school sports competitions and meetings, but rather a transformation that starts from “National reforms on curriculum and financing and then at the local level by working with local groups to implement sports facilities and employ specialist teachers.”

The same official added that the topic of “organizing the first African school games in Algeria” was also discussed, which is an endeavor that “we wish and are pleased to realize, as the occasion will be an opportunity to strengthen our relations with Algeria in order to develop and make sports in schools successful.”
