Bed bugs…the Algeria airport management company reassures citizens
The Algiers Airport Facilities and Services Management Company confirmed that the presence of bed bugs had not been detected at the airport, especially in high-risk areas, highlighting that a protocol for disinfecting public places had been activated to avoid the presence and spread of bed bugs at Algiers Airport.
The company explained, in a statement on Saturday, that since Sunday, October 1, preventive measures have been taken to avoid the presence and spread of bedbugs at Algiers’ Houari Boumediene Airport.
The same departments added that the presence of any of these unwanted parasites was not detected following regular inspections and disinfection in high-risk areas such as seats, luggage belts, airplane and bus aisles, prayer halls and other areas.
The Algiers Airport Facilities and Services Management Company highlighted that it is also committed to maintaining strict cleanliness by activating the protocol for disinfecting public places once to twice a day with chemicals to provide a clean and safe environment for Algiers Airport users.
The company also indicated that an awareness campaign has been launched for airlines to respect the aircraft disinfection protocol as stipulated by the International Civil Aviation Organization, in addition to raising the level of awareness among ground handlers, such as Swissport, to maintain the cleanliness and disinfection of all equipment and means of transporting luggage and goods.
The Algiers Airport Facilities and Services Management Company ordered all airlines operating at Algiers International Airport to respect the aircraft disinfection protocol that conforms to international standards.
