Attaf holds talks with various countries participating in the United Nations Forum
Yesterday, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral meetings today in the Portuguese city of Cascais with the foreign ministers of a number of sisterly countries, on the sidelines of his participation in the work of the second day of the tenth session of the United Nations Forum for the Alliance of Civilizations.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Ataf discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Tunisians Abroad of the Republic of Tunisia, Muhammad Ali Al-Nafti, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Togolese Abroad. Regarding the talks held by Ataf with the Turkish Foreign Minister, which focused on bilateral relations, the two parties praised the distinguished level reached by these relations in their economic aspect, whether with regard to the volume of trade exchanges or with regard to Turkish investments in Algeria. They also stressed the need to intensify joint efforts in order to achieve the goals. He allowed for a review of the reality of cooperation relations between the two countries and to discuss ways to push them to higher levels, in addition to discussing the prospects for continuing work within the framework of the Arab-Islamic group in order to intensify pressures. On the other hand, Ahmed Attaf held discussions with his Tunisian counterpart about ways to continue to advance and advance bilateral cooperation to broad horizons in line with the joint commitment of the leaders of the two countries, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his brother, President Kais Saied, and their high directives to give a strategic character to Algerian-Tunisian relations.
The Minister of State also exchanged visions and analyzes with his Togolese counterpart regarding the situation in the Sahel-Saharan region and discussed with him the prospects for joint coordination in order to contribute to strengthening the foundations of peace, security and development in this space.
