The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, confirmed that Africa wants reform that will remove injustice in the Security Council and restore the Council’s role and effectiveness in the face of successive crises and conflicts and their accumulation.
On Monday, Attaf stressed in a speech at Ashghal Ministerial meeting The 11 Committee of Heads of State and Government of the African Union on Security Council Reform states that the futility of diplomatic initiatives to formulate the desired solutions makes Africa want reform of the Security Council.
He added Minister of Foreign Affairs Previous experiences have proven that the strength of the African continent lies in the unity of its word and the rallying of its members around the noble goals they believe in.
Attaf stressed that the recent African momentum has proven Africa’s right and legitimacy in its demands for Security Council reform.
On Monday morning, the 11th ministerial meeting of the Committee of Ten Heads of State and Government of the African Union to reform the Security Council began at the Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Centre.
