Arkab participates in the OAPEC meeting in Kuwait – Al-Hiwar Algeria

Minister of State and Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Mohamed Arkab, will participate tomorrow, Sunday, in the 113th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), which will be held in Kuwait City, the capital of the State of Kuwait.

The meeting will discuss a number of important items on the agenda, most notably the adoption of the ministerial decision on the project to develop and restructure the organization’s business, and the approval of the organization’s budget for the year 2025. The agenda will also include a review of the reports prepared by the organization’s General Secretariat on global developments in the oil and gas sector, and a review of Projects launched by the organization, especially those related to strengthening information technology systems within the organization and training and training programs.

Specific initiatives will also be discussed, such as promoting the concept of the circular carbon economy, in addition to discussing the Secretary-General’s report on the organization’s activities during the year 2024. The decision to increase the value of the organization’s scientific research award will also be discussed, to encourage innovation and research in the field of energy and petroleum.

It is worth noting that the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries “OAPEC” was established as a regional Arab organization with an international character under an agreement signed in the city of Beirut on January 9, 1968. The organization aims to enhance cooperation between Arab member states in various economic activities related to the petroleum industry, and to consolidate relations. among them in this field. It also seeks to establish mechanisms to ensure the protection of the legitimate interests of members individually and collectively, and to work to unify efforts to secure the access of oil to the markets on fair and reasonable terms, and to provide an attractive environment for investment in the petroleum industry within member states.
