The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Faisal Ben Taleb, explained, on Saturday, in his speech at a symposium organized by the Ministry of Communication on the reality of employment in Algeria, that the number of beneficiaries of the unemployment grant reached two million and 26 beneficiaries, of whom 141,000 benefited from training, and more than 26,000 were appointed. The minister said that the unemployment system was used to identify the capabilities of unemployed youth and accompany them. The aim of this device is to guarantee financial resources, increase the incomes of Algerian families, and combat inflation.
Ben Taleb pointed out that during the past 8 months of the current year, the institutions regulating the National Social Security Fund were increased, reaching 10,000 new institutions, highlighting that this increase contributed to absorbing new job positions and raising the value of the sweeper fund, and that the number of job offers presented by the sector The social, economic, public and private figures as of last September 30 reached 334 thousand, an increase of 38 percent compared to last year.
The minister added that this year, job offers increased and the number of appointments reached 232,579, an increase of 27 percent compared to last year.
Meanwhile, Ben Taleb said that evading the declaration of workers is not only for the unemployed, but the worker asks the employer not to declare him for insurance. He also pointed out that the solution that will stop this behavior is supervision by inspection committees who will carry out their work according to the applicable laws. .
The Minister of Labor explained that among the measures that the committees will take in the event that there is any undeclared worker during the inspection process is the compulsory declaration, which will be returned for up to 4 years. He continued that not declaring workers to Social Security will break the professional path and take away one of the rights of the citizen. “Retirement,” adding that inspection eliminates these behaviors that harm the worker and the owner of the institution or company.
For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Badari, revealed a new regulatory text that will be issued soon that guarantees the process of employing doctorate holders, noting that his sector has witnessed a qualitative leap since 2020 with regard to the recruitment process, as for the first time since independence, 8,000 doctoral holders were employed. For master’s and doctorate students in the unemployed category, 1,904 hospital professors and 196 research professors will be employed during this month and next month.
The minister added that during the past three years, more than 33,000 professors were employed in professorial positions, including 2,500 professors who were employed in the first 6 months of the current year, highlighting that this recruitment process that Algeria is experiencing is considered the first of its kind, so that neighboring countries cannot No country would do a hiring process like this.
In the same context, the Minister said that for the budget allocated to the recruitment process, more than 14 billion Algerian dinars were allocated for the category of unemployed employees holding master’s and doctorate degrees, and 5 billion dinars for internal employees.
